Week 18 delivered statement wins, historical lows, and a shakeup at the top of the standings.
The Reds handled the Cubs 297–255 (+42), keeping themselves in striking distance in the NL playoff hunt. The Braves suffered a stunning collapse, posting just 151 points — their second-lowest in team history — in a 274–151 (+122) rout at the hands of the Angels. The loss drops Atlanta out of first place in the National League.
The Orioles cruised past the Guardians 267–138 (+129), officially eliminating Cleveland from postseason contention.
The Yankees bounced back with authority, taking down the Giants 311–267 (+44). In a lopsided contest, the Tigers dismantled the Cardinals 249–146 (+103). The Red Sox edged the Blue Jays 177–166 (+11) in a low-scoring slugfest. The Rangers took care of the White Sox 240–180 (+60), seizing sole possession of first place in the NL.

Playoff Watch
With just four games left in the regular season, the race is tightening:
- National League: Rangers hold the bye, with the Reds (2) and Braves (3) in playoff spots.
- American League: Yankees lead the way, with the Tigers (2) and Orioles (3) currently holding postseason berths.
Cleveland’s loss seals their playoff fate, while the White Sox have already been eliminated. The Blue Jays still have a narrow path, but they’ll need help to keep the dream alive.
