The Friday Night Draw: AHSDL Draft Order Revealed Live

April 3rd Broadcast Determines Startup Draft Positions for Both Conferences

The Alliance High School Dynasty League reveals its startup draft order this Friday, April 3rd at 7:00 PM ET in a live YouTube broadcast featuring back-to-back drawings for the West and East Conferences.

The Friday Night Draw brings 32 years of FSA tradition to the AHSDL's inaugural season. Each conference receives its own 45-minute selection show broadcast live. The West Conference drawing begins at 7:00 PM ET, followed immediately by the East Conference drawing.

The process mirrors classic FSA draft order methodology: team names drawn from the hat, dice rolled to determine initial board position, then action dice introduced to shuffle the order until all 12 positions are filled. One final roll locks the board. The chaos is part of the tradition—no GM knows their draft position until the dice settle and the board finalizes.

This is where startup draft strategies begin crystallizing. The GM selecting first overall holds different leverage than the GM picking 12th, who gains the Third Round Reversal advantage with picks 12, 13, and 25 in the opening rounds. Draft position determines whether a GM loads up on veterans early or targets premium Rookie Draft Spots for future building.

General Managers are not required to attend the live broadcast. Full replays of both conference drawings will be available on YouTube immediately following the show for GMs who cannot watch live.

The startup draft begins Sunday, April 13th at 6:00 AM ET on MyFantasyLeague as a slow draft with six-hour pick clocks. Two conferences. Twenty-four franchises. Twelve draft positions per conference. Everything starts Friday night when the names come out of the hat and the dice determine destiny.
